Rainbow Club is managed and delivered by school staff who work in the school throughout the day. All staff are fully trained in a range of areas including safeguarding, paediatric first aid, food hygiene and school policies.
At St Monica’s, Rainbow Club opens from 7:30am and a nutritious meal will be served between 7.45am and 8:15am. A sample menu is available below. During breakfast club, children will have the opportunity to take part in calming activities such as reading, colouring, small world, constructions, board games etc which will set them up to begin school at 8:45am. Play workers will walk children from breakfast club to their classrooms.
Children will be escorted down to after school Rainbow Club at the end of the school day where they will find a healthy cold snack waiting for them and exciting activities to choose from. A nutritious hot snack will be served at 4:35pm for those children who are staying until either 5:15pm or 6.00pm. A sample menu is available below.
The aim is to provide a safe place for children to attend after school where they can relax and take part in a range of activities until it is time for them to go home. A planned programme of activities takes place during this time so that children have an enjoyable experience at the end of the day. A sample activity plan is available below.
There will also be a number of sports clubs available in school after school from Monday to Friday after school. These are led by a sports coach and run from the end of school until 4.15pm. You can book your child into these clubs through our iPAL system on the button below.
Everyday there will be a range of free-flow activities for children to choose from both inside and outside (weather permitting). There will also be an adult-led activity planned for both inside and outside, these will vary daily and most days the children will make something which they can take home with them.

Children will need to be collected by a named adult promptly and there will be a charge for late collections.
From 7.45am-8.20am Breakfast consists of: Selection of cereals, Toast with butter and spreads, Fruit (Chocolate spread and a chocolate cereal will be offered)
From 3.30pm Snacks consist of: Fruit / Yogurt / Chocolate Biscuits
